Invest in future generations

As one of the youngest national theatre companies in the world, National Theatre Wales has been bringing theatre to Welsh audiences and beyond since 2010.

We create productions that question the role of theatre in our society, and push the boundaries of what can be achieved through the arts. We are a registered charity – meaning we are a not-for-profit organisation and rely on the generosity of individuals, trusts and foundations and statutory funding to be able to create the work we do.

Legacy giving creates long term sustainability for NTW, ensuring we continue to share and support theatre throughout Wales for years to come. We aim to be truly national in everything we do, exploring the landscape of Wales and working with Welsh artists to make work that’s relevant and exciting for our audiences. A legacy to NTW means we can achieve a greater reach and impact with future audiences, make more work, meet more artists, and maximise our support of the arts sector in Wales and beyond.

We know that talking about wills and deciding what you leave behind can be a difficult process, however there can be great comfort in knowing you have made sure you can continue supporting your family and a charity you care for, such as National Theatre Wales, with our legacy scheme – Investing in the Next Generation.

We want to say a huge thank you to anyone who has already decided to leave a legacy to NTW or is considering doing so.

Clive Jones
Chairman – National Theatre Wales

At National Theatre Wales (NTW) we understand that leaving a charity a gift in your will is a huge and very personal decision to make and you want to know that the people and places you care about can continue to succeed for years to come. If theatre has been an important part of your life and you want to see Welsh theatre continue to thrive, please consider leaving a gift to NTW and support us to continue to inspire and support our future generations.

Even just 1% of your estate can make a huge difference, helping to future-proof NTW by making us more sustainable to continue our work for years to come. At NTW we are constantly questioning what theatre is and what it can be, creating site-located productions throughout the landscape of Wales and reaching communities in all corners of the country. We appreciate the importance of the arts within a community and the positive impact it can have on people’s lives. By leaving a legacy to NTW you can support the next generation of Welsh theatre makers, actors, artists, audiences and participants. We have strong links with theatres, artists, educational establishments, charities and communities across Wales, enabling us to take your support even further. Through NTW, your gift can nurture Welsh talent and show more young people the possibilities of theatre.

We are always looking to work in new, dynamic and exciting ways. We need funding for change, progress and innovation to continue the growth and strength of the performing arts sector in Wales. We are proud of everything we have achieved since 2010, however we know there is so much more we can do and your support would be truly valuable in helping us reach our ambitions.

There are three core areas of our work that your legacy would support:

NTW’s Artistic mission is to –
Showcase exceptional Welsh talent across the world

NTW’s Collaboration/Education (TEAM) mission is to –
Support a national network of diverse people across our nation’s communities to act as a catalyst for positive change, empowerment and leadership in the arts across Wales

NTW’s Creative Development mission is to –
Develop confident and innovative Welsh artistic talent

To discuss supporting NTW, please contact Michelle Carwardine-Palmer, Managing Director, to hear about the areas of work you can support and what your legacy would mean to NTW.

We would like to suggest that you speak to a legal professional regarding your will, as they will be able to guide you through the process and advise you on the benefits a charitable donation in your will can provide regarding inheritance tax.

Whilst we wait for our lovely new website to get up to full NTW speed and accept online donations, we’d still love to hear from you. So for a further conversation about how you can support National Theatre Wales, please contact Michelle Carwardine-Palmer, Managing Director, on 029 2035 3070.
