About the project
NTW TEAM was delighted to present Adrian Medcalf’s solo exhibition The Faces of Wrexham at TWIG Gallery, Wrexham, for the month of June 2019.
“It started with Mark, he was having a hard time, so I painted his portrait with tears in his eyes. Then I painted Griff, sitting on a bench.
Dee Davies got in touch with me, from Wrexham Homeless, and asked me to volunteer at Ty Croeso, and that’s where I met the people on the streets of Wrexham. The lad begging, the bundle of rags in the doorway had a name, they all said please and thank you and instead of being someone you look away from I could see their faces and hear their stories.
Fathers and sons, mothers and sons, lovers, friends, all on the streets of Wrexham, homelessness has no boundaries.” – Ady Medcalf
