What Happens When Memory Dies
Laolu Alatise and Yasmin Begum, with mentorship from Saqib Deshmukh, are working together on a Located Residency spanning London and Cardiff. In undertaking research, development and frequent meetings online, they are exploring selected works in contemporary Black and Asian drama and developing collaborative writing in response.
Laolu and Yasmin are examining the quotidienne of life in and of Wales. Inspired by their evolving, intimate relationships, this period of creative research interrogates how the walls of home and the stage contain our words. What Happens When Memory Dies looks at society, the spectacle, shame, sensitivity and secrecy.
