Nia Llewelyn Jones
INTERIM PRESS AND PR MANAGER
Shwmae, I’m Nia and I’ll be working at National Theatre Wales over the next few months to shout about all the great things that NTW will be doing this year.
I’ve worked within the arts and culture industry in Wales for 15 years. Having previously led the press team at Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff for many years, I now work as a freelance publicist, working with a diverse range of organisations within theatre, music, festivals and major events. I also represent London PR agency, Corner Shop PR in Wales.
I’ve been fortunate to work on several culturally significant events and productions during my career but the one that stands out above the rest is the collaboration between National Theatre Wales and Wales Millennium Centre who created one of Cardiff largest cultural events – Roald Dahl’s City of the Unexpected, which celebrated the Welsh author’s centenary year. The event drew in thousands upon thousands to the Welsh capital to experience once of the most delightful, unexpected, weird and wonderful events one could ever imagine.
Other highlights include working on the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad, the arts programme which Olympiad was a programme of cultural events across the UK that accompanied the London 2012 Summer Olympics and Paralympics Games.
In 2017, my love for music and the outdoors drew me to work alongside Cardiff based SC Productions to deliver Artist Liaison Management to a number of the UK leading music festivals.
Apart from theatre, my other passions include music, sport and the outdoors. Despite being a keen traveller, I am hugely passionate about my home country of Wales and all that it has to offer.
