I’m the proud son of an economic migrant who arrived in the UK from Nairobi, Kenya mainly because the weather here was much better!
I’m a graduate of Cardiff University where I qualified in Law and Politics. I also hold a postgraduate Certificate in Leadership. I’m currently Assistant Director, Head of the Office of the Chief Social Care Officer for Wales – a real deadpan civil servant!
My role involves supporting the Chief Social Care Officer for Wales, managing the relationship with Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse, establishing Welsh Government as a ‘safe’ organisation and, as an add-on, I'm responsible for the Welsh Government's covert surveillance policy and procedure.
My previous roles include Head of Complaints - yes Head of Complaints! - HR Special Projects, Deputy Director Borders and Immigration Agency Wales & Southwest. I’ve also had a formidable history in the voluntary sector having held many roles including Founding member of the Anti-Racist Alliance, Chair of Show Racism the Red Card Wales, Chair of the Welsh Black Public Sector Network and Vice Chair of BBC Children In Need Wales; BBC Appeals Advisory Committee.
I’m currently an Independent Panel Member of the Greater London Authority, a member of the Lord Chancellors Advisory Committee, and Chair of the Football Association for Wales 3rd Tier appeal committee.
