Year One in Wrexham – Lizzie Glazier

I’ve been working as TEAM Associate here in Wrexham since January, running a series of events for us to find out what you would like from your National Theatre, as we work towards creating a show together in 2021.

 

I’ve attended a range of events including art, music and spoken word. I’ve met some incredible people doing incredible work to make Wrexham and the lives of its residents better. We’ve hosted TEAM parties and socials alongside the NTW production of Peggy’s Song which was part of our NHS70 Festival. I’ve met inspirational young people at Senedd Yr Ifanc. We’ve run a range of workshops including design, spoken word and performance with a range of groups including young people and the men at HMP Berwyn. I’ve met people who love theatre, people who’ve never been to the theatre and people who thought theatre wasn’t for them.

 

We’re now preparing for our final event of the year which will be a Performance Party at Tŷ Pawb on 6 December. This will be directed by Catherine Paskell, a founding associate of NTW, and performed and designed by a local team. Please come along for a night of performance, discussion, food, drink and more.
