Supporting artists in Wales to develop their dramaturgy skills

We were bowled over by the number of artists who got in touch through our dramaturgy call-out - between the four roles advertised, we had over 130 applications! The breadth of interest and talent made us think about how we could support up-and-coming dramaturgs in Wales, helping to create a supportive environment for the next generation of talent.

With the support of our Associate Dramaturg Kaite O’Reilly, we created a development programme for a cohort of eight artists. Over the last few months, we’ve travelled to see a bunch of theatre shows together, held Q&As with the companies behind these shows to get to know their practice and run masterclasses with professional dramaturgs.
